- Positioning either Flight Control switch to STBY RUD.
- Positioning the Alternate Flaps switch to ARM.
Automatic operation takes place under these conditions only:
- Loss of System A or B and
- TE flaps extended, and
- airborne, or wheel speed greater than 60 knots, and
- FLT CONTROL switch A or B is ON.
